Not all builders meet the strict criteria to become a Registered Master Builder. It’s not enough to be just trade qualified. To be a Registered Master Builder; building experience, trade or professional qualifications and practical management experience are assessed. Workmanship is inspected and previous clients are contacted, to ensure the applicant’s work is of a high standard and has satisfied clients’ expectations. In addition, applicants must provide evidence of financial responsibility with written references from their bank, public accountant and building material suppliers. Re-certification of members occurs regularly, with checks on financial viability and more importantly their workmanship.

1 Background Info

Caroline was involved in the New Zealand Dairy industry for 13 years as a full-time mechanical engineer. It was all hands on in the plant but throughout the years she progressively worked her way through to the engineering design field. Not long after that a family started to fall into place and Caroline started to work part-time from home whilst raising her first born, Emma.

2 Dedication and commitment

Juggling between her engineering work and raising her second child, Jack, she decided to dedicate her time well and helped her husband, Mat, expand his business. She has been helping with the administration for the past 2 years with the invoicing and accounts. Work often takes place in the late evenings
whilst being a full time mum 24/7 to her 2 kids, Emma and Jack.

3 A super multi-tasking mum and wife

As life between work and raising her 2 kids keep her on her toes, she manages to find the time with her superb multi-tasking skills, to explore the outdoors and goes mountain biking in the weekends, running and snowboarding. She also holds a passion for acrylic painting, but most of all she enjoys spending as much time possible with her husband and her 2 kids.
